Manipulator for nuclear
power plant

In December 2004 there were finished the works at designing and manufacturing of the Robotic system “Scheme” with a manipulator and a radiation-resistant video camera. The manipulator is meant for operating video control of the metal inner surfaces and the metalware of nuclear reactors of RBMK 1000 type.

The manipulator by means of supporting device and a set of composite rods up to 12 metres in length is lowering in a hard-to-reach area of the reactor metalware. The whole length of the four-bar manipulator is 1,5 metres at maximum bar diameter not more than 95 mm. Four degrees of manipulator mobility allow to position video camera in different states necessary for the detailed metalware survey. Video camera has an ability of precise size measuring of the survey objects. Radiation resistance of the video camera at maximum power of radiation dose is not less than 300 000 rad/h, at integral dose of gamma radiation it is not less than 50 000 000 rad/h.

Appreciation of TARIS equipment

In August 2004 TARIS Corporation supplied Mosvodokanal (Moscow City Water & Sewage Authority) with the C-200 D robotic system for CCTV survey, cutting operations and point-contact measuring of the pipeline wall thickness. In September of this year there were a demonstration of system abilities for the customer. Commission headed by the General director Mr. Stanislav Khramenkov highly appreciated the new TARIS-made equipment which has no russian or foreign analogues.

The employees of the Centre of technical diagnosis started to operate actively the system in the networks of functioning municipal pressurized sewerages. In the nearest time TARIS will provide Mosvodokanal with one more C-200 D robotic system for measuring pipeline wall thickness and for measuring water supply pipeline inner protective insulation.

One more TARIS innovation

Research & Manufacturing Corporation TARIS produced a new system of localized water repair of water supply wells from 200 to 600 mm in diameter and up to 200 m in depth. It is intended for the blue holes and cracks in casing strings by setting up of inner ring-type bandages.

The new system includes the control station with a color monitor, a video tape recorder and the cable drum with winding electromechanical gear. It also has the deepwater color video camera with a tilt & rotate unit, a pneumatic packer for setting bandages and a cutter head for preliminary cleaning-up of repairing points from sediments. With a help of this new system it is possible to block the mudded top waters penetration into the well and to solve many other problems which were impossible to realize earlier using traditional equipment for wells inspection and repair.

A new TARIS export contract

TARIS-made CCTV pipeline survey systems will be working soon in Malaysia: during the 4 th International Trade Fair ECWATECH-2004 in Moscow were signed the delivery contract of the P-100, P-200 CCTV survey robots, the C-200 Cutter, a repair pipeline robot and the W-400 Floating Module for partially filled drain collectors.
